Match Notes - (7/1/99):
The much anticipated first match with DiK was very exciting as expected.
They were not able to field a full compliment of players for the event
so we played 3 on 3 most of the night. All 4 maps were played on our HaK
private port. OK.. on to the details..
Map 1 - The Frag Pipe: Exasperate was expecting
his 4th player to show up so diplomatically he suggested we field 4 players
and his would jump in when he arrived. Well his 4th player never did arrive
and the score reflects a map that was totally dominated by T2K. DiK members
we barely allowed to pod let alone grab a weapon before they were surrounded
by rocket or rail wielding T2K. It was a very unfair situation.. but these
things happen.
Map 2 - The Edge: Well after the first map
both parties agreed that a 3 on 3 confrontation was a much better idea
so we dropped Takedown from the roster and began play. These guys are
just tough on The Edge. The armor room was dominated by DiK for most of
the map. The armor wearin 100 health grabbin DiK players were "tough as
hell to kill" and our crew had their hands full. Cack and Exasperate played
a real strong map and DiK pulled off a 1 point win over T2K. Methane put
in a strong showing. Danger struggled against the afore mentioned armor
wearin health grabbin tough as nails crew in the armor room. Riva started
the map but timed out (poor HPB). Uncle came in at the last minute throwing
in 5 quick kills before the map ended.
Map 3 - The Frag Pipe: Well this go around
DiK was on even grounds.. 3 on 3. This time around our guys just executed
perfectly demonstrating how total map domination can be achieved with
proper teamwork. Takedown and Methane worked together perfectly making
it almost impossible for DiK to obtain a good weapon.. these guys are
gritty, tough, just relentless! Uncle performed his usual very high efficiency
killing spree destroying everything in his path. Dangers rail got hot
taggin unsuspecting DiK from a distance. Great work fellas.
Map 4 - The Edge: It's quite obvious that
DiK feels much more comfortable on The Edge. They had a plan and it worked
well.. till our guys adjusted. Dangerman got some help this go around
by Methane and the two battled DiK for control of the armor room. Control
was never achieved by either squad.. one hell of a battle! Again Cack
and the DiK squad played a great map showing awesome one on one skill.
Riva, the only HPB had a much better go around this time ending up high
scorer with 26 frags.. even with his disconnect (poor HPB). We came out
on top this time by only 9 frags in a very low scoring round. This map
was a real treat for me to observe.
Overall a great performance for T2K and a well fought battle from DiK.
We learned a few things tonight. We are really looking forward to the
rematch with a full 4 member DiK squad.
