Match Notes - (9/12/99):

This was our first try at retaking the #1 spot on the TLC. It was also our first match on the TLC in almost 2 months! It's lonely near the top 8-(. We've only meet DiK once in battle.. in the original LiL. We edged them out then so we knew we were in for a tough one. This is also the crew that knocked off E6!

Setup was.. well a real pain 8-). DiK is located in California while most of T2K is in Texas. After 2 hours of trials we gave up on finding a decent server that was equal for both teams. We ended using that TLC ruling play one map on each teams server and tally the frags in case of a tie. This isn't the ideal situation for such a big match but sometimes it's the best ya can do. Server settings were 1800/700 hook, no quad and no BFG.

First Map - Tokay's Towers: We played the first map on the DiK server. Our pings varied greatly as expected. On my ISDN I got a steady 240 ping with a bit of PL. Most of our Dallas players faired better with 140-160 ping range. Takedown who happens to live in California managed with a 70 ping..hehe. Dangerman, Riva, ChewiE and Rookie took the field. Unclewad was scheduled to play this map but he wasn't able to stay connected. Riva was playing on my system so I got a real good view of the match from the players perspective. The pace was as expected.... tons of hookin rocket and rail carrying DiK firing from above at our guys. Riva grabbed the Resist rune right off and managed to avoid DiK till he was built up. He played a seek destroy regenerate game for the first 12 minutes managing to stay alive until Port smacked him with a couple of strength rockets. The rest of the guys all traded blows almost 1 for 1 against DiK in a very tough fought map. We ended up losing a close match by only 18 frags. I was very pleased with our performance. This is DiK's top map and we hung in tough.

Second Map - Frag Pipe: We headed back to our PDC server for this map. The T2K crew consisted of Rookie, Riva, Methane and Unclewad. Most of DiK pinged from 140 - 170 with some pl. Poor Exasperate was stuck playing with a 320 ping! The map started off quick as T2K quickly grabbed control of the map. Not much to say except DiK did not expect the team effort they encountered. T2K kept map control the entire time. Riva for the 3rd straight time on the Frag Pipe played a perfect game with a 100% efficiency rating. Methane kept close pace with an above 90% efficiency rating. The entire crew did a great job of locking this map down.

The total score ended up being DiK: 118 - T2K: 294. We regained the #1 spot on the TLC and we will fight tooth and nail with anyone who tries to take it from us! DiK played a great match. The are absolutely a class act and a great team. We look forward to our next match with them.
