Match Notes - (3/26/00):

To be honest I've never met a MTL guy before tonight. I wasn't really sure what to expect but I knew from the position they held in the OGL they would be a tough match. Thanks to Elvis for setting this up. We selected a neural server as MTL still does not have one of their own. In general the server was real laggy. Ping does not tell the whole story in the pictures above. I won't tell you that I would have rather had the 130 ping but I will say that shots were delayed greatly and MTL guys were jumping 1/4" at a time.. real hard to hit. Man do I wish we were all on a HUGE GLOBAL LAN.. oh well.

First Map - The Edge: After a short delay we started our first map. We got off to an small lead early never able to pull far from MTL. They played an excellent map focusing first on the armor room. The fight moved outside to the big open circle. With 4 minutes to go MTL grabbed the lead. We battled back strong at the end to pull away and hold the victory. T was the OUTSTANDING T2K player amassing 70 frags while being fragged only 38 times!

Second Map - The Slimy Place: Not my first choice for a rail only map.. but interesting none the less. It proved to be very entertaining as it turns out. In pre-game warm-up I begun to see a pattern develop. I put Biggus to the task of guarding a zone and he made a real go of it battling a very persistent Toxic and Liquid. VeniVediVici our only HPB player pitched in a strong performance as the highest pinger. Chewie and T showed extreme skill in small spaces. The map was neck and neck the entire time with MTL leading at the 1:40 mark Biggus and T finished with a rally and we capped off the match.

All in all a fun match. There were some after battle antics but I'll leave those in the tabloids :). I'm sure this won't be the last we hear of this very talented group..
