Match Notes - (10/30/99):

Most of us had only heard rumors of the great OCC clan from California. They quietly climbed the ladder defeating team after team until they were in reach of the top. The only thing standing in the way was us :).

Laxman and I went back and forth quite a bit to come up with a server that would offer no definitive advantage to either side. We decided on Hell's Half Acre and were given a port by A-6 (thanks!). Unfortunately about 20 minutes before game time the server went down :(. We tried several alternatives but all proved to be heavily PL laden. We finally offered up as a last resort our own Frag Shack. Pings were steady and PL was minimal. Pings in the first map were pretty even with both Takedown and Spacewrangler playing quite a distance from Houston. We did sport a ping advantage in the second map (sorry OCC.. sometimes net life just aint fair). Server settings were default TLC.

Laxman informed me late Saturday that his 4th man was going to be unavailable to play after all. I offered to drop a man and play a 3 on 3 match. Props to Riva and Flagship who were rostered to play but each dropped out a map. Sorry Flag.. you got first dibs next match :).

First Map - Frag Pipe: Well sheez.. we never play this map LOL. This map is starting to feel like an old glove.. just fits. The map started quick with OCC jumping to an early lead. T2K got established and took back the lead. Methane, Takedown and Spacewrangler played a great map dominating key areas. OCC put up a real fight.. and OMG can they fire that railgun! Nice play from both teams. This was Spacewranglers first official battle in the TLC and he really put on a good show.. nice work SW!

Second Map - The Warehouse: With Methane returning for this map ChewiE and Riva rounded out the T2K crew. Again the fight started quickly with a fast rush for the Rocket Launcher. OCC took a quick lead but they were soon shut down by Methane and ChewiE's pounding rockets.. and just a few of Riva's amazing rail shots! I still remember Laxman posting a few OMG comments after a few of Riva's mid air rail slugs spewed OCC gibs to the wall. ChewiE and Riva lead T2K with 54 frags each.

In our first title defense we were able to fend off a very tight OCC squad. The match setup and play was really easy thanks to Laxman. OCC played a hard fought match and showed real sportsmanship. Anytime you guys wanna scrimmage or match up just give us a shout!
