Match
Notes - (5/28/00):
We've only met OCC
on the battle field once before. I guess we pissed them off before cause
they were just mean LOL. OCC recieved a great deal of talent for the now
debunked DiK clan. Take the previous talent of the OCC clan and mix it
with the best of the old DiK clan and you've got some serious all-stars.
Tonight they put on a show.
Map 1 DM2:
We headed into battle on their turf knowing it would be VERY hard with
a very distinct ping disadvantage. I was unable to play a couple of my
normal starters including Rookie due to connection issues (sorry Amigo).
What can I say about this first map but wow. It was total and complete
domination. They grabbed all the runes and control of the map never showing
weakness. We've never been dominated to that degree before.. yikes great
map.
Map 2 DM8:
After the beating we took on DM2 we headed into DM8 replacing two of our
members. This map was a little better than the first but still a very
clear victory for OCC.
Map 3 DM2:
After playing on the away server we were happy to arrive home. Our first
roster back sported for the most part a ping advantage over the OCC crew.
It's clear however that they really have DM2 worked out. They again showed
us why it's their favorite map beating us on our own turf. Great map again
OCC.
Map 4 DM8:
We finally pulled out a map win against the OCC crew on the 4th round.
We edged them out on the Warehouse with very even pings for all players
(except Riva LOL). It would seem our home server didn't offer us much
of an advantage with this crew but we've gotten used to DM8 and were able
to finally fend them off.
Final Notes: OCC
played an outstanding match tonight showing us we have our work cut out
for the finals. Great performance from a very impressive OCC group. We'll
be back for the finals.. and you can bet we'll be ready :). Oh.. there
was some confusion regarding the OCC server. I wanted to clear up that
the OCC server while on the @Home network is in fact a T1 running to the
@Home business division. It is a T1 server. Well done tonight.. and thanks
to Cage and Laxman for making setup a breeze as usual.
