Match Notes - (9/3/99):

I was really really looking forward to this match.. more than any I have played before. I guess it's because I have always considered Ginsu one of my trainers. I also remember Funkymonkey totally dominating me map after map on Pernet when I started out with T2K. These guys are a big part of the reason Quake is such an addictive game.. two great guys willing to trade secrets and just bs after they kick ya around.

Of course there was also a bit of business to attend to this evening. Ginsu threw down the gauntlet in Dallas after C4 handed us a real whoopin. Riva and I were out to deal a bit of revenge 8-). I had a small.. well plan hehe. We put Riva the usual HPB poor modem man over at Dangerman's house on his kickin system with DSL. Funkymonkey showed up 20 minutes early and scoped out Riva's 25 ping connection. Everybody was below 80 ping but I think Ginsu and Funky were expecting Riva to be lag boy as usual.. surprise 8-).

The Edge: At the start things were tense. I grabbed a rocket and the first rune I could find and went about my way gathering as much armor as I could. Riva followed suit and things got off to a slow start as both teams postured for a clean shot. After first blood things started to get a bit more active but overall both teams proceeded cautiously. Riva was high scorer and held the highest efficiency dying only 3 times! We ended up taking the win 35 - 9.

The Frag Pipe: There are just not many places to hide on this map. Action started out fast and furious. Riva had a hot hand with the rail using it for 12 out of his 28 kills. I think he's gotten used to the 25 ping heh. I had better luck with my rocket launcher using it for 22 of my 27 kills.

The C4 crew was good competition but we had a hot night. With Riva low ping our team is elevated to a higher level. I expected this to be much closer but Funkymonkey and Ginsu were not on their usual game. Thanks for the match guys. When your ready we'll be here for the rematch.
